Across the Universe is the story of two lovers (Jim Sturgess and Evan Rachel Wood) set to the musical catalogue of the Beatles. A fantastic, gorgeous, and lush assault on your senses, it leaves you with an impression, for better or worse. A hate it or love it film, I loved it: the colors, the fantastic music, and stunning visuals. Julie Taymor was great with Frida; here, she has crafted a fitting tribute and reimagining of the Beatles' music. For all its great and numerous flaws, there's a at least two more wonderful things.
